(South Orange, NJ) – From June 10 – 12, twelve candidates came to discern the call to the Salesian Lay Missioner (SLM) program. Â During that time they learned about the Salesian charism, Don Bosco, what it means to become an SLM, and tools for reflecting on their discernment journey. Â Salesian Missions’ director, Fr. Mark Hyde SDB, discussed the Salesians and the early years of Don Bosco while Fr. Tom Provenzano SDB presented Don Bosco’s “Oratory Criteria”. Â A panel of returned SLMs helped to shed light on what life is like in mission and the different joys and struggles one goes through pre/during/post mission. Â Sunday’s mass for the Feast of Pentecost was celebrated by Fr. Mark Hyde SDB.[cincopa AsCAUq60ckDn]
